Today we started off with the Juggs Small Ball Machine.  We are going to try and incorporate this in our routine on a more regular basis.  Sway really likes using this machine and since the balls are so small he has to really focus on his vision in order to hit.  Vision has been our focus lately as it is something he needs to get better at!

Note: we are going to work on each day.  Goal is to Load and Stride to Power position and pause (Staying Back) then hitting.  Sway did really well at this today for the first time doing it.

USSSA - UFC IV in Plant City

1 Hour of hitting before our games today.  Team meet at Eagle Lake Cages early in the AM.

We played Wesley Chapel Storm and Sway was 1-3.  I thought he caught very well and did a good job controlling the run game.  We wound up beating Wesley Chapel pretty badly.




Our second game we faced the Meteors in the semi final.  Sway hit the ball very well this game but 2 were caught in the outfield.  He did have a big double in the top of the 6th inning to start a rally that would eventually tie the game.  We wound up losing by one run in the bottom of the 6th inning.  It was a great game and could have gone either way.

USSSA - UFC IV in Plant City
We played the Tampa Titans and Tied them in Pool Play.
We then Played The Bandits and beat them pretty badly.
Sway did not hit very well day 1 of the tournament.  He saw a lot of change ups in fastball counts.  It is something that we need to work on more.

After our two games the whole team headed back to Eagle Lake Cages and hit for two hours.

Tee & Batting Practice.  Sway hit about 100 Balls total.

Worked on Open base stuff.  Picks, Leads, etc...  We have some things to work on to get him ready for Open bases.

Sway stayed over so that he could practice again with them on Sunday.  From the looks of these pictures sent to me it looks like he had a great time after practice at the bowling alley.

Note: Sway did a very good job today on recognizing balls in and pulling them but still keeping his hands inside the ball.  We have been doing a lot of work on making sure his front shoulder does not turn in to much and it has really helped  him with turning on the ball in and also getting better extension through the ball after contact.  He is also doing a great job of keeping his head behind the ball.  He seems to be generating a lot more bat speed too due to training with wood a lot.

Today Sway had a rigorus workout schedule.  He was really mature tonight and worked hard with ME, Corey, & CV.  He hit the ball with an incredible amount of Pop tonight.  I can see that he is getting a lot stronger with all of our work with the wood bats lately.
