The last day of 2011 is here and it has been a very good year for Sway. He has accomplished a lot this year. It is amazing to see how much focused practice he has put in. The use of this blog has really helped his development.
Here are our goals for 2012:
Transition to be a true Switch Hitter - January 20% of our hitting work will be left handed
Become a more mechanically correct pitcher - Sway will be attending pitching lessons 1 time a week with Chris Nyguard. I am VERY excited about his potential due to having such a talented pitching coach working for me.
Functional Training with Zack Lush at least 1 time a week. With the start up of my second location in Viera and Zack Lush (Delucas Training) moving in next door to me opens up an incredible opportunity for not only my son but all the other players who train with me. I am super excited for Sway to start on the functional strength training element of his game. He is really excited for this opportunity as well.
Lose the fear of Blocking in games. Sway has done a great job in drills blocking but has a fear to do it in the games. Physically he is capable of it but we need to get over the mental fear. Our goal is to become a very solid blocking catcher this year.
Sway's Goal - Hit his first ball out. He has come very close a few times this year and I am confident he will achieve this goal this year. I rather him hit hard line drives back side each at bat, but he wanted this as one of his goals HA HA...
